Beauty Trend Setters

We have always tried to define beauty and perhaps will continue to do so. But like a common adage states, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" (all though this may not necessary be so- since appearance can be deceiving).

We all definitely would agree that irrespective of height, weight, size, color, or proportion, beauty is that unique thing that makes you stand out.

Ironically, the most glaring imperfections have laid foundation for certain beauty trends. For instance, fuller top lips vs thinner bottom lips.Six African countries participated in the pageant. The countries represented are Nigeria, Cameroon, South Sudan, Sudan (3rd runner up), Liberia (2nd runner up), and Sierra Leone (miss Africa-Iowa). Miss Africa-Iowa would represent Iowa, at the nationals in Maryland later this year.

Thanks to modern technology and modern medicine, a person can undertake cosmetic surgery procedure to alter their outward appearance. So next time you look into the mirror and notice that scar glaring at you like the moon on a cloudless night,  remember that beauty is that thing that differentiates you from others. It is your "Unique Selling" point (according to advertising)... So if we all concentrate on our individual uniqueness think of how many new trends we can set…

Talking about beauty trends, last weekend was Miss Africa Iowa. It was a fun filled event that brought to focus major issues pertaining to women such as rape stigma and female discrimination, women empowerment as well as other continental issues and their effect on African women...

Somethings we like about the pageant:
1. It is a good example of beauty trend setter  2. Beaut and brains - something we can never get enough of!

Healthy Skin Options

Because we cannot initially choose what kind of skin we are born in, the best we can do is make decisions that will maintain and manage our existing skin conditions. Our skin is the most vital organ - one we can touch, feel, and taste it… The skin is a strong indicator of our lifestyle, personality, heritage, and well-being….

Sometimes our skin condition may be subject to our life style choices and we may need to adjust to some healthier habits to better our skin. For those born with the perfect airbrushed skin, improving the skin condition may not be an issue of concern. But because nothing lasts forever there may be a need to consider some form of effective maintenance routine to help the skin stand the test of time…

However, thanks to breakthroughs in science and technology there are many methods of improving the skin condition from mild skin toning, to subtle skin lifts and drastic changes such as plastic surgery. But then how effectively can we improve our skin without resulting to some drastic measures? And what are those effective choices? This is the journey I am taking you on, with various stops at the offices of experienced dermatologist and other skin care solution providers…

But before then let’s start at the basic - do your "CTM"!
1) Clean your skin to remove embedded dirt and other impurities.
2) Tone your pores using a good skin toner.
3) Moisturize your skin using a good moisturizer to nourish your skin.

It is important to do your CTM consistently! Because consistency is the key to maintaining good and healthy skin… Remember to include at least 3 portions of fruits, vegetables, and water to your meal daily and you will be on your way to achieving beauty that is skin deep…

Be beautiful!!!!
